New here? Perfect. The Rewards Edit is about one thing: using credit-card points, airline miles, and hotel points to travel more for less — plus the occasional money move that makes the whole budget work better. This page is the front door.
The plan, in five minutes
- Pick one trip. A destination and a rough month beat a vague wish to “travel more.”
- Earn flexible points first. Points you can move to several airlines and hotels keep your options open.
- One card at a time. Earn each welcome offer fully, with spending you already had planned, and pay in full.
- Book when it is good, not perfect. A solid redemption for a trip you want beats a theoretical perfect one.
- Keep the system tiny. One page of notes for balances, one yearly audit of annual fees.

The one rule
Points never beat interest. If a card balance will not be paid in full every month, skip the travel card and use cash or a simple cash-back card until it will. This site will repeat that in every guide, because it is the line between travel that is nearly free and travel that is quietly expensive.
Ready when you are — start with the first-year plan, and welcome to The Rewards Edit.
